The applications of the post-non-classical ideal of rationality to the issues of upbringing and personality seen as a self-developing system are considered in the paper. The issue of students’ introduction to personal knowledge of their teacher is emphasized. The fundamental impossibility of building an educational/upbringing system based on just one (e.g., humanistic) approach is argued; the factors that influence the choice of specific «actions of upbringing» in specific contexts are summarized.
