The results of empirical study of representations of happiness in people with psychosomatic disorders (n = 25) and people without psychosomatic disorders (n = 25) are presented. Based on the semantic differential test developed by the author the factor structures of semantic spaces of happiness are identified. It is established that representations of happiness in psychosomatic patients have more complicated structure. It is also established that the overall level of psychological well-being (happiness) in psychosomatic patients is lower than the same level in people without psychosomatic disorders. In further studies of happiness a unipolar semantic differential technique may be used.

Keywords: happiness, psychological well-being, psychosomatics, psychosomatic patient, psychosemantics, everyday consciousness
